Intel (INTC) has contacted TSMC (TSM), United Microelectronics (UMC) and Globalfoundries to manufacture chip orders, reports DigiTimes. According to industry sources, Intel has placed orders with TSMC for its Atom mobile processor series codenamed SoFIA and placed orders for entry-level basebande chips with the other two companies.
