Infosys will also leverage Infor ION, a lightweight middleware, to help customers connect their ERP systems to other Infor or third party systems.

Shares of India-based IT firm Infosys (INFY) are sliding after the company reported financial results for the second quarter and a reduced view for fiscal year 2016 revenue. The company also announced that its chief financial officer is leaving. WHAT'S NEW: This morning, Infosys reported second quarter earnings per share of 23c on revenue of $2.39B. Analysts were expecting EPS of 22c and revenue of $2.34B. The company also reduced its FY16 sales growth forecast in dollar terms to 6.4%-8.4% from earlier guidance of up 7.2%- 9.2%. On the company's Q2 earnings conference call, Vishal Sikka, the company's chief executive officer, spoke to the continued downward pressure on pricing on the traditional IT services. The company noted that while it is seeing strength in automotive and hi-tech, it is seeing some challenges in the aerospace sector. The company also noted softness in the industrial sector where there is exposure to oil and gas or mining. WHAT'S NOTABLE: In its earnings press release, Infosys disclosed that Rajiv Bansal, who has served as executive vice president and CFO of Infosys since October 2012, has informed the company of his intention to resign. He will be replaced by M.D. Ranganath at the close of business October 12. PRICE ACTION: In midday trading, Infosys is sliding 6.68% to $17.87.

Infosys (INFY) will create new Internet of Things solutions in collaboration with General Electric (GE) and others to develop these solutions. The Industrial Internet Consortium, an international body of industries, governments and academics focused on developing best practices for the Industrial Internet, recently approved two Infosys-led testbeds: an Asset Efficiency Testbed tht enables holistic monitoring, analysis and optimization of critical infrastructure assets; and the Industrial Digital Thread Testbed, which creates more intelligent linkages between the three phases of manufacturing - design, production and field testing/service. IDT has been co-developed by Infosys and GE, and will be implemented first as a pilot project at GE Aviation.
