The master limited partnership helmed by noted investor Carl Icahn reported revenues in the fourth quarter rose to $4.2B from $3.2B in the same period of the prior year. Fourth quarter net income attributable to Icahn Enterprises was $6M, or 6c per LP unit, compared to $260M, or $2.81 per LP unit in the prior year's quarter. The company said its quarterly results this year were negatively impacted by scheduled turnarounds at CVR Energy's Wynnewood refinery and Coffeyville fertilizer plant. However, Carl Icahn stated, "IEP has started the year with very strong results," noting that the indicative net asset value per IEP unit increased to $67 per unit as of March 13 from $56 per unit on December 31, 2012, which amounts to about a 20% increase over the period. In afternoon trading, Icahn Enterprises shares slipped 35c, or 0.57%, to $60.60. | |
