06:18 EDTNDAQ, ICENasdaq, NYSE push for trading rule to widen tick sizes, WSJ reports
Nasdaq OMX (NDAQ) and NYSE Euronext, a unit of IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) joint together in a bid to reclaim trading volumes from smaller competitors, reports the Wall Street Journal. According to people familiar with the matter, the two firms are pushing for a rule to be added to a pilot program under consideration by the SEC to widen tick sizes, or the increments between price quotes.
