Hertz Global announced that Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation has acquired Pioneer Equipment Rental and Sales, an Oklahoma-based construction and industrial equipment rental company, focused primarily on rentals to the industrial and construction markets, that services the Oklahoma, Southern Kansas and Northern Texas markets. Pioneer Rental will add $25M of annual revenue to HERC, and the acquisition will be accretive to Hertz's 2012 earnings, Hertz said. | |

FlightCar is undercutting Hertz Global (HTZ) and Avis Budget (CAR) at San Francisco International Airport by offering rental cars for as low as $21 per day, ABC News reports. The start-up, run by teenagers, offers travelers free parking, a free car wash, and a cut of the rental fee to rent their cars out while they travel.
