| theflyonthewall.com: | HealthSouth purchases land in Southwest Phoenix, Arizona; Plans new hospital | | HealthSouth announced it has acquired land and plans to construct a new 48,000-square foot inpatient rehabilitation hospital in southwest Phoenix, Ariz. Construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2012, and the hospital should be operational by the third quarter 2013. In connection with these plans, HealthSouth purchased 6.87 acres of land located at the northwest corner of North 91st Avenue and Pinchot Avenue. Plans for the new hospital include 40 private rooms where inpatient rehabilitative care will be offered, including specialized rehabilitation programs using advanced technology to help patients recover from a major illness, injury or surgery. It is expected that approximately 300-400 construction jobs will be created during the building process. In its third year of operation, the hospital will employ approximately 90 full-time medical professionals. :theflyonthewall.com |
