FBR Capital views the sale of Hartford's (HIG) individual life insurance business to Prudential (PRU) as a win-win for both companies since Prudential paid an attractive price while Hartford freed up $1.5B of statutory capital, which the firm says is better than expected. As such, FBR thinks Hartford shares are likely to be the bigger beneficiary of deal, and it maintains Outperform ratings on both names.
