| theflyonthewall.com: | Halliburton says 2010 outlook remains "fluid" | | On the Q4 earnings conference call, Halliburton (HAL) said its current outlook for 2010 remains "fluid," and growth will be uneven but within geographic and customer segment. In the international market, its IOC customers have generally maintained consistent spending levels through the downturn, and "indications are that as a group their spending levels into 2010 will be flat." The company sees improving international activity in 2H10 and into 2011. Halliburton said it is seeing opportunities to increase pricing in North America this year as it benefits from its technology, footprint and the capital investments made through 2009. In the international market, international margins are being impacted by the contract retendering process and this will persist throughout 2010. Q1 margins will be particularly affected by increased mobilization costs from project start-ups and the usual dropoff of software and equipment sales. :theflyonthewall.com |
