Following GT Advanced's (GTAT) announcement to shut down factories in Mesa, Arizona and Salem, Massachusetts, an Apple (AAPL) spokeswoman said the company will continue evaluating GTAT's progress on larger sapphire boule development, reports Re/code. She said, "Apple put a lot of effort into an ambitious new sapphire manufacturing process with GTAT which is not ready for production. We’re going to continue evaluating GTAT’s progress on larger sapphire boule development, as well as consider other options for the facility. 08:03 EDTSCTYSolarCity lowered pricing in California, says JPMorgan
JPMorgan says SolarCity lowered its pricing in California, implementing a fixed price of 15c per watt, down from a prior average of 17c. To reflect the change, SolarCity dropped the NPV of its average new residential deployment to $1.75 per watt from $2.19 historically, the firm notes. JPMorgan cut its Retained Value estimates and dropped its price target for SolarCity shares to $74 from $83. The firm believes the price change could be tied to the proposed compression of rate tiers in 2015, allowing the company to address a larger market. It keeps an Overweight rating on SolarCity.
