JPMorgan Chase announced that the partners of One Equity Partners, the firm’s private equity unit, will begin to raise their next fund from an external group of limited partners and become independent from JPMorgan Chase. One Equity Partners currently manages approximately $4.5B of investments for JPMorgan Chase in direct private equity transactions and has produced strong returns over the last twelve years. OEP will continue to make direct investments for JPMorgan Chase for an interim period. OEP will still manage the existing group of portfolio companies for JPMorgan Chase to maximize value for the firm.

Walter Investment Management (WAC) disclosed in a regulatory filing that on May 31 its wholly owned indirect subsidiary Green Tree Servicing entered into a Master Repurchase Agreement, or “Warehouse Agreement," with Bank of America. In addition, pursuant to the terms of their agreement, the company provided Bank of America with a guaranty in order to support Green Tree’s obligations under the agreement. The agreement provides for a maximum aggregate purchase price of $500M, $250,000 of which is provided by Bank of America on a committed basis, the filing stated.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority announced that it has fined two firms a total of $2.15M and ordered the firms to pay more than $3M in restitution to customers for losses incurred from unsuitable sales of floating-rate bank loan funds. FINRA ordered Wells Fargo (WFC) to pay a fine of $1.25M and to reimburse approximately $2M in losses to 239 customers. FINRA ordered Bank of America (BAC) to pay a fine of $900,000 and to reimburse approximately $1.1M in losses to 214 customers. In concluding the settlement, Wells Fargo and Bank of America neither admitted nor denied the charges, but consented to the entry of FINRA's findings.
