Groupon (GRPN) appointed Kal Raman as COO. Raman will continue to report to CEO Andrew Mason. Raman joined the company in April 2012. He was previously Senior VP, Global Sales and Operations. Most recently, Raman worked as VP of Global Fulfillment at eBay (EBAY).

After conducting research in China, Bernstein believes that Alibaba's (BABA) international expansion poses an increasing competitive threat to eBay (EBAY) Marketplaces. The firm says that 25% of eBay's gross merchandise volume is generated outside of the U.S., and it believes a significant amount of that comes from China. Bernstein believes it is possible but not likely that Alibaba will buy eBay Marketplaces after its spin off. The firm keeps a $60 price target and Outperform rating on eBay.

ChannelAdvisor released October same-store sales data for eBay (EBAY) and Amazon (AMZN) in a blog post. The research company reported eBay's October SSS growth came in at 4.4%, down from September's 8.9% and below the e-commerce growth rate of about 15% reported by ComScore.
