14:11 EDTGPROGoPro technical notes before earnings
The stock has been trading in a narrow range with a bullish bias to the price channel since hitting lows in the middle of March. Typically a narrowing of this type suggests larger moves may be ahead. A technical positive is that the stock is above its 50-day moving average, which was acting as a downtrend resistance line. If the news is bullish, the first resistance level of importance would be at the $50 area. A breakout above that level would see next resistance at $54.57. If the news is a disappointment, support at the 50-day would put price at $42.98. Below that level next supports would be at $40.67 and $39.47.

06:38 EDTGPROCiti sees Q1 sales, but not earnings upside for GoPro
Citigroup expects GoPro to report Q1 revenue of $346M, $5M above consensus, with its demand trackers showing "strong momentum" for the company's cameras. The firm, however, does not expect the sales beat to flow through to earnings with GoPro "hiring aggressively" in Q1. It expects Q1 earnings per share of 17c, 1c below consensus. Citi tells investors it finds it difficult to get more positive on shares with the stock near its $48 price target. The firm keeps a Neutral rating on the action camera maker.
