| 10:39 EDT |  | GOOG | Google confirms introduction of free public WiFi for NYC's Chelsea Google confirmed in a press release that the company has partnered with The Chelsea Improvement Company, the New York City Mayor’s office and the City of New York’s Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications to provide free public WiFi internet access in southwest Chelsea. Google said free WiFi is now available outdoors, roughly between Gansevoort St. and 19 St. from 8th Ave to the West Side Highway, as well as the neighborhood’s public spaces, including the Chelsea Triangle, 14th Street Park, and Gansevoort Plaza. |
