Amazon Web Services, an Amazon.com company, announced that it has contracted with Iberdrola Renewables, LLC to construct and operate a 208 megawatt wind farm in Perquimans and Pasquotank counties, North Carolina, called the Amazon Wind Farm US East. This new wind farm is expected to start generating approximately 670,000 megawatt hours of wind energy annually starting December 2016, or enough to power more than 61,000 US homes in a year. When completed, it will be the first utility-scale wind farm in the state of North Carolina, with the energy generated delivered into the electrical grid that supplies both current and future AWS Cloud data centers.

In a Wal-Mart (WMT) blog post published Monday, Walmart.com president and CEO Fernando Madeira wrote that the company is "kicking off some awesome deals this week that will be available for everybody with no hidden costs or admission fees, and they won’t be available for just one day. Our customers will see thousands of great deals on Rollback beginning this week along with some special atomic deals... In addition, we’re rolling back our free shipping minimum order to $35 from $50." Note that Amazon's (AMZN) "Prime Day" shopping holiday is set to take place on July 15, though consumers will need a Prime membership to gain access to those deals. Reference Link

HP (HPQ) unveiled a set of offerings, including devices, solutions and services, that it said complement Microsoft's (MSFT) upcoming Windows 10 OS. HP devices available with Windows 10 include the BANG & OLUFSEN limited edition of the HP EliteBook Folio 1020 and the recently announced HP Pro Tablet 608. The BANG & OLUFSEN limited edition of the HP EliteBook Folio 1020 is expected to be available in the fall and pricing for the product will be set closer to its availability date, HP said. HP Pro Tablet 608 is expected to be available in August, starting at $429. For SMB customers, HP is offering HP Subscription -- a new way for customers to access the latest PC technology for a monthly fee. For large corporate and enterprise organizations, HP will offer a full suite of services, including client configuration and deployment services, to help customers migrate and transform to Windows 10, the company added.

Wells Fargo views Rackspace's (RAX) agreement to support Microsoft's (MSFT) Azure cloud service as a positive for shares. While Wells expect minimal revenue contribution from the partnership in 2015, it thinks the pact expands Rackspace's addressable market. The agreement should also help should Rackspace improve capital returns, Wells tells investors in a research note. It keeps an Outperform rating on the stock.

Rackspace (RAX) announced that it has expanded its service offering for its Microsoft (MSFT) product portfolio with "Fanatical Support for Microsoft Azure." Rackspace will work with customers to understand their requirements and create solutions that incorporate and maximize the latest Azure technologies, the company said. Customers can purchase Azure infrastructure and support as a bundle from Rackspace, whose experts can help them with architectural and on-boarding guidance. Customers who already use Azure infrastructure and want support and management expertise can get Rackspace managed services for their infrastructure as a separate cost based on their infrastructure spend. At launch, the offering will be generally available for U.S. based customers and will expand to International customers through early 2016, Rackspace said.

We are expanding the Cloud Solution Provider program to help partners continue to build and grow profitable cloud services businesses using Microsoft Cloud. Beginning today, Microsoft will expand CSP to additional markets, bringing the total number of markets in which CSP is available to 131. e’ll share that we are introducing a new premium Office 365 enterprise suite called E5 before the end of this year.
