10:42 EDTGOLGOL Linhas files to operate flights in state of Para
GOL Linhas announces that it filed a formal request to Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency to operate flights to Carajas and Altamira, in the state of Para. The request was made to operate in Carajas - with four weekly frequencies and Altamira - three weekly frequencies. The operation, still pending approval by Anac, is expected to begin in September, and will have departures and destinations, as shown below:

Noting that Delta (DAL) has been a "very strong" customer for Gogo (GOGO) and may have played a role in the companies deals with Delta partners GOL Linhas (GOL) and Virgin, Runway Girl Network speculated on whether Delta and Gogo could create "a 2Ku alliance” for subscription pricing and to allow customers to fly across the Americas while maintaining a "consistent connectivity experience."
