Samsung Electronics unveiled the Samsung Gear S, the next generation smart wearable device that expands the smartphone experience to the wrist. The new Samsung Gear S delivers an up-to-date smart wearable experience with 3G connectivity and wearable optimized features to meet the evolving needs of consumers. The Samsung Gear S features a 2-inch curved Super AMOLED display, providing a richer view with a beautiful and easy-to-use user interface. It allows users to read messages and notifications at a single glance with features such as conversation view and condensed font. Also announced with the Samsung Gear S is the new Samsung Gear Circle. When paired with a smartphone, users can easily receive calls, listen to music, and make voice commands in style through a Bluetooth connection. It features a magnetic lock which clasps around the userís neck when not in use, as well as a vibrate function to signal incoming calls and notifications. Both the Samsung Gear S and the Gear Circle will be available in global markets in phases through Samsungís retail channels, e-commerce websites and via carriers beginning October.

HEG Technology, a China-based supplier for Samsung (SSNLF) and Lenovo (LNVGY), denied that it employed child workers and rejected claims from watchdog China Labor Watch which alleged that the supplier hired over 10 children under the age of 16 to work at its factory, according to Reuters, citing comments from an employee at HEG Technology's human resources department. Samsung (SSNLF) and Lenovo (LNVGY) are up against new child labor claims after a supplier in China, HEG Electronics, had supposedly employed over 10 children under the age of 16, according to the Financial Times, citing remarks from China Labor Watch. Wells Fargo notes trade publication Runway Girl Network posted an article about Verizon's (VZ) potential interest in Gogo. Wells calls the article's argument that aviation broadband is an extension of terrestrial broadband and could be complement Verizon's wireless service "logical," and says Verizon could also be interested in Gogo's spectrum. Wells sees compelling arguments against Verizon being interested in Gogo, but notes that at current valuations, Verizon could acquire Gogo close to the value of the underlying spectrum and get the business for free, which the firm says "isn't a bad trade." Wells has a Market Perform rating on Gogo.

The early move higher in shares of Gogo (GOGO) is being attributed to a blog post from Runway Girl Network. The post stated, "Wall Street is now buzzing that Verizon might be studying a potential joint venture, acquisition or partnership with Row 44 competitor, Gogo."
