After conducting channel checks, BB&T says that it's much easier and faster to trade in games at GameStop than to do so at Wal-Mart. GameStop has several other advantages over Wal-Mart, according to the firm, which thinks GameStop could coexist with the retail giant in a worst case scenario. The firm keeps a $55 price target and Buy rating on GameStop.

This is a big win for all shareholders of Family Dollar and yet another validation of the activist investment philosophy in general." Another company in the space, Dollar General (DG), has previously been speculated as an alternative partner for Family Dollar and Wal-Mart (WMT) is seen as a competitor to dollar store operators.
