The new patent covers suppression of a glutaredoxin protein called GRX3. In combination with other Gevo patented technologies, deletion of GRX3 significantly increases the production of isobutanol by yeast cells. | |

Subscribe for More Information | | | 09:06 EDT |  | GEVO | Court dismisses all claims in Gevo case against Butamax Butamax Advanced Biofuels announced that the United States District Court for Delaware has issued an order dismissing the action that Gevo asserted against Butamax in relation to United States Patent No. 8,101,808. Gevo has indicated that the '808 patent claims cover Gevo's GIFT technology for the removal of isobutanol, the technology used at Gevo's Luverne plant prior to its shut down last year. Butamax is moving ahead with the first phase of a plant retrofit this year. A hallmark of Butamax's development progress is the grant of 7 patents in 2013 alone, including an entirely new method for recovery of bioisobutanol from fermentation | |
