06:27 EDTGE, CMCSA, CMCSKVivendi seeks higher price, deal protection for its NBCU stake, WSJ says
As Vivendi seeks to exit its minority stake in NBC Universal, the company is still working out terms with its partner General Electric (GE), asking for a higer price and deal protections, the Wall Street Journal reports. The Vivendi-GE talks are the last major hurdle in a deal GE has been negotiating with Comcast Corp. (CMCSA, CMCSK). One issue in the GE-Vivendi talks is how Vivendi would be paid. Vivendi has asked for GE to buy out at least part of its 20% stake before a Comcast deal would likely close, according to people familiar with the matter. It is unclear how far apart the two sides are on price. In June, Vivendi valued its 20% stake in NBC Universal at $6.3B at current exchange rates, according to a securities filing. As part of its talks with Comcast, GE has put a value in the neighborhood of $30B on NBC Universal, imply a roughly $6B value for Vivendi's 20% stake. Reference Link

Netflix (NFLX) has filed a petition to the FCC against the proposed merger between Comcast (CMCSA) and Time Warner Cable (TWC), as the streaming company has previously indicated it would, reported Engadget.
