The first and larger award, placed by a new utility customer, is an award of ULTRA systems for two small and two medium-sized coal fired units that are being retrofitted with nitrogen oxide, or NOx, reduction technology. Equipment delivery for this award is scheduled over the next four quarters as units are retrofitted with NOx reduction technology. The second award, also from a new utility customer, is an award of ULTRA systems for four medium-sized coal-fired units that are being retrofitted with NOx reduction technology. The equipment delivery for this award will occur in the fourth quarter of this year. Fuel Tech's ULTRA process provides for the safe and cost-effective on-site conversion of urea to ammonia for use as a reagent in the selective catalytic reduction of NOx, eliminating the hazards associated with the transport, storage and handling of anhydrous or aqueous ammonia. | |
