16:58 EDTFLSFlowserve receives multiple orders for the Lichterfelde Cogeneration Power Plant
Flowserve announced it received multiple orders for key pumping systems for the Lichterfelde Cogeneration Power Plant. The orders were booked in the Q1. Located in Germany, the 300-megawatt plant replaces an old coal plant. Cogeneration power plants use natural gas as a fuel and have an efficiency level almost double that of a comparable coal fired plant, resulting in significantly reduced emission levels. In addition, Flowserve will also provide the pumps for the district heating process.

07:11 EDTFLSFlowserve awarded $30M in orders to supply pumping systems in Poland
Flowserve announced it has received a major order to provide multiple pumping systems to Alstom, a France-based global leader in power generation. The orders, totaling approximately $30M, were booked in the second quarter of 2014. The pumping systems will be used for boiler feedwater and condensate service at two units for a new ultra-supercritical, coal-fired power plant in Opole, Poland. The two units, each generating 900 megawatts, will be operated by Polska Grupa Energetyczna. This USC coal-fired power plant will be the largest coal-fueled facility in Poland upon its anticipated completion in 2019. The pumping systems servicing the two units include type CHTA main feedwater pumps, which are double casing, multistage barrel pumps; and type HDX booster pumps, which are single-stage, radially split, double-suction pumps.
