14:00 EDTUMC, FJTSYFujitsu to withdraw from semiconductor manufacturing, Nikkei reports
Fujitsu (FJTSY) will wind down chip production and sell two fabrication facilities over the next few years to U.S. and Taiwanese companies, the Nikkei reports. The company's semiconductor business generated sales of $3.13B in the year ended March 31. Fujitsu is reportedly going to sell its Mie plant to United Microelectronics (UMC). Reference Link

Kopin (KOPN) announced that it has licensed certain wearable technologies and is supplying key components to the FUJITSU (FJTSY) IoT Solution UBIQUITOUSWARE Head-Mounted Display, for enterprise customers. The HMD unit, which is based on Kopinís latest concept system design and began sales in Japan on May 11, incorporates Kopinís display module, optics, Voice Extraction Filter technology and software.
