Service has been restored to more than 1.8M FirstEnergy customers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland who lost power as a result of Hurricane Sandy. As of 6 a.m., the current FirstEnergy outage totals by utility include: Jersey Central Power & Light, or JCP&L – more than 381,000 customers; Mon Power – more than 32,000 customers; Metropolitan Edison (Met-Ed) – more than 14,000 customers; The Illuminating Company (CEI) – more than 1,100 customers; Potomac Edison – more than 5,000 customers. | |
