FirstEnergy crews are working around the clock to restore power to its customers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland who remain without power following Hurricane Sandy. As of 6 a.m., the current FirstEnergy outage totals by utility include: Jersey Central Power & Light: more than 918,000 customers; Metropolitan Edison: more than 96,000 customers; The Illuminating Company: more than 113,000 customers; Mon Power: more than 80,000 customers; Potomac Edison: more than 33,000 customers; Penelec: more than 2,200 customers; Ohio Edison: more than 1,800 customers. | |
