Viper Energy Partners (VNOM), a subsidiary of Diamondback Energy (FANG) and Diamondback today announced the launch of Viper's initial public offering of 5M common units representing limited partner interests. Barclays, Credit Suisse and Wells Fargo Securities are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering, Baird, Raymond James, Scotiabank / Howard Weil, Simmons & Company International, Stifel and Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. are acting as senior co-managers for the offering, and Northland Capital Markets, Sterne Agee and Wunderlich Securities are acting as co-managers for the offering.

SunTrust says its latest analysis reinforces its view that Diamondback's Midland Basin acreage is among some of the most economic in the industry. The firm says the company has solid management and strong financials. It raised its price target on the name to $95 from 494 and keeps a Buy rating.
