Seven major automakers said they will repair vehicles linked to faulty air bags that could explode and cause serious injuries, reports the Detroint News. The automakers -- which include Ford (F), Chrysler (FIATY), Toyota (TM), Nissan (NSANY), Honda (HMC), BMW, and Mazda -- come after the NHTSA held a conference call on June 13 that pressed them to recall vehicles connected to air bag inflators built by Takata. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration urged automakers to recall all U.S. vehicles with airbags made by Takata, according to The New York Times. The recall of of vehicles with the airbags has been limited to two states and two territories associated with high humidity, the newspaper stated.
