General Dynamics Electric Boat is being awarded a $310.77M modification to previously awarded contract for additional design agent, planning yard, engineering and technical support for active nuclear submarines. The efforts provide for drawings and related technical data; design change documentation; logistics technical data; configuration management; hull, mechanical and electrical engineering; submarine safety design review; non-propulsion plant electrical system engineering; propulsion plant engineering; maintenance engineering; refit/availability technical support; on-site support; configuration change program design and installation support; configuration change program material support; submarine technical trade support; training and facility support; research, development, test and evaluation program support; research and development submarine/submersibles support; miscellaneous special studies; temporary alteration support; modernization of submarine/submersible systems/subsystems; and affordability/cost reduction technical support. Work is expected to be completed by September 2016.

EV Energy Partners announced it has signed an agreement to divest its 9% interest in Cardinal Gas Services to E1 and a Korean consortium led by Samchully for $162M, which includes estimated purchase price adjustments of approximately $18M. This sale is being made in conjunction with TOTAL E&P USA (TOT), which has also agreed to divest its 25% interest in CGS. The transaction is expected to close in mid-October and is subject to regulatory approval, tag-along rights and approval of the other member of CGS, as well as customary closing conditions and purchase price adjustments. Upon closing, EVEP intends to use the net proceeds of the disposition to repay amounts outstanding under its revolving credit facility.

Total has received an offer from the French group Arkema to acquire its Bostik affiliate, a global adhesives company. Arkemaís offer values Bostik at EUR1.74B, or around $2.25B, representing 11 times the companyís EBITDA. In light of the quality of the project, Total has granted Arkema an exclusivity period to pursue the offer, and it will be presented to the relevant employee representatives, as part of the required information and consultation procedures. Arkemaís offer for Bostik includes clear undertakings to continue operations sustainably and safeguard existing jobs and employee benefits. The proposed transaction is subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities.

ComEd, a unit of Exelon, announced that it will refund customers $46.2M. The refunds stem from settlement of long-pending legal cases brought by the Illinois Attorney Generalís Office, Citizens Utility Board and the Illinois Industrial Energy Consumers on issues related to depreciation costs in ComEdís 2007 rate case filing and from costs in the companyís smart meter pilot project in 2009. Average refunds for residential customers will total approximately $8 and will appear as a credit on November bills.

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, was awarded a $16.2M contract by the U.S. Navy to produce Type-3 Advanced Mission Computers for the F/A-18 E/A-18G Super Hornet aircraft. Since 2002 General Dynamics has produced, tested and delivered the F/A-18 AMC, which serves as the nerve center of the Super Hornet and provides the Navy with situational awareness and combat systems control. This contract will be performed primarily at the General Dynamics facility in Bloomington, Minnesota. This contract will be completed by March 2016.
