05:57 EDTESLT, BAESYElbit Systems subsidiary awarded $50M contract by BAE Systems for NAVAIR
Elbit Systems (ESLT) announced that M7 Aerospace, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems, will be working with BAE Systems (BAESY) to provide logistics support for the T-34, T-44, and T-6 aircraft under a contract awarded to BAE Systems by the Naval Air Systems Command, or NAVAIR. Under its NAVAIR contract, BAE Systems awarded M7 a subcontract of approximately $50M to be performed over a five-year period.

Elbit Systems announced that it was awarded an Israeli Ministry of Public Security and the Israeli Police contract, valued at approximately $115M, to supply leasing and maintenance services for the Israeli Police Force's aircraft. The contract, awarded following a public tender, will be performed over a twenty-year period, and will include acquiring six new helicopters, adapting them to meet the Police requirements and performing routine maintenance. The helicopters' configuration and onboard mission systems will be fitted to accommodate a wide variety of missions such as surveillance and policing, search and rescue, command and control and fire-fighting. Elbit Systems, which will operate the helicopters under a PFI contract, has been successfully operating PFI projects with the Israeli Defense Forces and in a number of countries around the world.

The U.S. Army has awarded BAE Systems a $50M contract for the continued production of MK 90 propellant grains. The MK 90 propellant grain is the propulsion component of the Hydra 70 family of rockets used by the U.S. military and several allied nations to support overseas operations. BAE Systems began producing MK 90 propellant grains in October 2012, with the first delivery occurring in August 2013. To date, approximately 500,000 grain units have been delivered to the U.S. Department of Defense. Production for this current contract will begin in 2016 and continue through 2017.
