Embraer (ERJ) won a $428M deal to supply 20 light attack planes for the U.S. Air Force, beating out Hawker Beechcraft, reported Reuters. A senior Brazilian official said, "This is obviously a very good development for Boeing. It's the best thing that's happened to them in months (in the fighter jet race)," according to report, which noted that Boeing is bidding to overhaul Brazil's Air Force with more than 36 new jets. Boeing (BA) announced today at the Paris Air Show a memorandum of understanding with Air Lease (AL) to purchase 33 airplanes. The Los Angeles-based leasing company has committed to order three 787-9 and 30 787-10X Dreamliners. Boeing looks forward to working with ALC to finalize the details of the agreement, at which time the airplanes will be posted to the Boeing Orders & Deliveries website as a firm order. ALC expects to begin taking 787-10X deliveries in 2019.
