06:25 EDTSSNLF, QCOM, ERIC, AAPLEricsson phone upturn with $17 chip might strain Qualcomm, Bloomberg says
Ericsson (ERIC) has conjured up a new strategy to join the success of Apple (AAPL) and Samsung (SSNLF) with a new $17 stamp-sized chip for transferring data to phones and it and expects to start generating revenue soon, according to Bloomberg citing comments from Ericsson's head of strategy and ecosystem Bjoern Ekelund at the firm's Lund facility. By making the parts instead of handsets, Ericsson avoids competing against the giants that dominate smartphone sales, but it still would to go toe-to-toe with Qualcomm (QCOM). Reference Link
