Now sees Q3 revenue $43M, consensus $50.22M. Entropic announced revised financial guidance for Q3. Due primarily to less seasonal strength than was anticipated in the company's Direct Broadcast Satellite Outdoor Unit business, and to a lesser degree further weakness in legacy set-top box system-on-a-chip products, Entropic now expects revenue for Q3 to be approximately $43M. The company is making good progress on its previously announced restructuring plan and cost reduction efforts and therefore expects to be on the lower end of its previous guidance for operating expenses.

18:36 EDTENTREntropic, ViXS Systems settle all litigation, execute cross-license pact
Entropic (ENTR) and ViXS Systems announced they have settled all outstanding litigation between the companies and have agreed to a cross-license to the patents at issue in the litigation. Entropic, ViXS and certain of their subsidiaries have been engaged in several patent lawsuits in the federal courts as well as proceedings before the International Trade Commission. Under the settlement agreement, all outstanding claims and counterclaims in those actions will be dismissed against all defendants, including DIRECTV (DTV), Wistron NeWeb Corporation and CyberTAN. The settlement also includes a cross-license between Entropic and ViXS of the issued patents that were the subject of the litigation. No fees or royalties are payable by either party with respect to its business as currently conducted or planned. Other terms of the settlement were not disclosed. The companies each expressed satisfaction with the litigation settlement.
