e.Digital Corporation (EDIG) has filed thirty-nine new patent infringement lawsuits in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. Handal & Associates, on behalf of the company, has recently filed the lawsuits against entities that e.Digital believes infringe the company's U.S. Patent No. 5,839,108 covering the use of flash memory technologies. The patent is part of e.Digital's Flash-R patent portfolio. Among the list of Defendants are Toshiba America Information Systems (TOSBF), Kingston Technology Company, Seagate Technology (STX), Western Digital Corporation (WDC), Intel Corporation (INTC), Micron Technology (MU) and PNY Electronics. The '108 patent relates to the way that modern day flash memory devices store and manage data.
