| theflyonthewall.com: | Drugstore.com CEO sold 94,000 shares of eBay, Barrons.com reports | | Dawn Lepore, the chairman and CEO of Drugstore.com (DSCM), sold 94,611 shares of eBay (EBAY) on Jan. 26 for $2.3M, or about $24.20 per share on average. Lepore, a director on teh eBay board, acquired those shares after exercising options that were set to expire in May. She continues to own more than 300,000 shares in eBay, including exercisable options, which is less than 1% of eBay's outstanding shares. Lepore's sale was the first insider sale at the company in about a month and a half, and it was her first sale since April 2008. Lepore's sale should not change investors' minds, says Benjamin Schachter, an analyst at Broadpoint AmTech who rates eBay at Buy. Reference Link :theflyonthewall.com |

| theflyonthewall.com: | eBay introduces free auction listings and the "3-Cent Store" | | eBay announced free auction listings and dramatically reduced listing fees for fixed-priced items in the U.S. making selling on eBay.com simpler than ever for sellers of all sizes. The pricing changes, which take effect March 30, more closely align eBay's success with its sellers, dramatically lowering -- and even eliminating -- the upfront costs of selling on eBay. This success-based pricing is similar to changes implemented by eBay in Europe, which has driven strong growth for sellers in markets such as the U.K. and Germany. Beginning March 30, eBay will offer two pricing packages in the U.S.: For sellers who list items occasionally, new "eBay Everyday" rates. Auction-style listings with a start price of 99 cents or less will be free (with no insertion fees for up to 100 listings per month). or sellers who list often, new "eBay Stores" subscription rates offer insertion fees as low as 3 cents per listing for 30 days--a 90% reduction over current rates. :theflyonthewall.com |
