Executives at top European telecom companies, including Deutsche Telekom (DTEGY), France Telecom (FTE), Telecom Italia (TI) and Telefonica (TEF), privately met with EU competition chief Joaquín Almunia and came away intent on exploring the idea of creating a pan-European telecom infrastructure network, given their frustrations that the region's disjointed market has hurt their ability to compete, according to Financial Times, citing sources close to the talks. Mavenir Systems (MVNR) announced its VoLTE application solution was launched by Vodafone Germany (VOD), who announced during CEBIT 2015 the first commercially available VoLTE service in the European market. Mavenir’s virtualized VoLTE application solution consists of its IMS Telephony Application Server, Application Gateway and Media Resource Function.

Accenture (ACN) and Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) have announced a four-year agreement with Telefonica (TEF) to deploy Alcatel-Lucent's Motive Customer Experience Management software for Telefonica residential customers in European and Latin American countries. As a result, customers will gain more control over their broadband experience, including self-help tools to reduce calls to customer care and shorten resolution times. Through a combination of Alcatel-Lucent's CEM products and Accenture's systems integration and transformation capabilities, Telefonica will expand the capabilities of its customer care centers.
