DISH (DISH) head of product management Vivek Khemka said the satellite-TV company would be interested in bidding on the National Football League's Sunday games if DirecTV (DTV) fails to renew its deal, Bloomberg reports, citing an interview. AT&T (T) can back out of its takeover of DirecTV if the NFL deal isn't extended. Reference Link

16:11 EDTTFCC approves Frontier Communications acquisition of AT&T's Conneticut wire-ops
Frontier Communications (FTR) announced that the Federal Communications Commission, or FCC, has approved its proposed acquisition of AT&Tís (T) local wireline, broadband and video operations in Connecticut. The company is currently also seeking approval from the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, or PURA, and has already received Justice Department approval. Pending PURA approval, the company expects to close the Connecticut acquisition transaction in Q4.

The Federal Communications Commission's has received more than 677K comments so far from the public on its proposed 'net-neutrality' rules for how broadband providers can treat content traveling over their networks and a random sampling of the input suggests that the agency will have work to do to sell the plan, according to The Wall Street Journal. Companies that provide broadband Internet service include Comcast (CMCSA), AT&T (T), Verizon (VZ) Time Warner Cable (TWC), and Cablevision (CVC).
