Carl Icahn is not agreeing to Dell's (DELL) committee request of dropping his right to a proxy fight in return for reimbursement by Dell of discovery expense, a deal that bidding groups led by Silver Lake Partners and Blackstone (BX) have both been granted. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Icahn said he is exploring his earlier proposal for a dividend, which would require a proxy fight. Icahn has made a preliminary bid to buy up to 58% of Dell but as of yet has not engaged in talks with Michael Dell, notes WSJ. Reference Link

Baird raised its price target on Hilton (HLT) to $33 from $30 ahead of its Q1 earnings report. The firm cited in-line peer valuation despite better growth expectations, additional asset monetization initiatives, and the potential for Blackstone (BX) to sell its shares, which would remove an overhang and boost liquidity. Baird reiterated its Outperform rating on Hilton.
