07:01 EDTDCO, TXTDucommun awarded contracts valued at $5.6M from Textron unit
Ducommun Incorporated (DCO) reported that it has received contracts valued at $5.6M from Bell Helicopter, a subsidiary of Textron (TXT), to provide electronic assemblies and wiring harnesses for the V-22 Osprey tiltrotor military aircraft through January 2015. The company will manufacture the electronic subassemblies at its Huntsville, Ark., plant and the wiring harnesses at its Joplin, Mo., facility. Ducommun has supported the V-22 program since 2005.

Bell Helicopter, a Textron (TXT) company, has contracted Hughes Aerospace to develop performance based navigation procedures for use by operators flying Bell helicopters with advanced onboard navigation systems in China. The selection process for the first location in China is underway, the company stated.

Goldman downgraded the Aerospace sector to Neutral based on group outperformance and increased downside risks. The firm believes Boeing (BA) and Airbus are now oversupplying the market after a decade of undersupply and replacement demand required to sustain production may prove difficult to achieve. Goldman said accelerated new aircraft replacements was partially due to fuel economics and lower fuel prices and global growth volatility could substantially change Aerospace dynamics. As part of the sector view change, Goldman downgraded Boeing to Sell from Neutral and Precision Castparts (PCP) to Natural from Buy.
