14:54 EDTDALDelta Air Lines technical comments ahead of results
The shares have broadly underperformed in the last three months, trading down over 15%. The downtrend began at the start of September, with price declining from $40.97 to a low at $30.12 which was hit yesterday. Trading of late has been notably volatile. If the news is better than expected, a first important upside objective would be at $33.50, the high of today's session. A move to $33.50 to $34 would have the effect of stopping the near-waterfall in price. To turn the shares bullish would take a move above $36.95, a pivot high on a closing basis from earlier in the month. On a long-term chart, the trend would shift to neutral from bearish if that high were reached. If the news or outlook contain further negative surprises, the first downside would be the low of today's session at $30.43. A move to that level or lower would confirm the current downtrend. Additional support levels to watch as potential downside objectives on an increasing scale of bad news would be at $28.78, $27.46, and $25.61.

The CDC announced earlier that a second health care worker who has been diagnosed with the Ebola virus traveled by air on October 13, a day before she reported symptoms. The CDC is reaching out to passengers who flew on Frontier Airlines flight 1143 Cleveland to Dallas/Fort Worth due to the proximity in time between the evening flight and first report of illness the following morning. Publicly traded companies in the space are trading lower following the report, including American Airlines (AAL) down 3.65% to $30.35, Delta Air Lines (DAL) down 4.39% to $31.37, JetBlue (JBLU) down 2.69% to $9.95, Southwest (LUV) down 2.5% to $29.24, and United Continental (UAL) down 5.5% to $40.66. 11:03 EDTUALGogo selected to provide in-flight Wi-Fi on United's two-cabin jet fleet
Gogo (GOGO) announced that it has been selected by United Airlines (UAL) to bring its in-flight Internet service to United's two-cabin regional jet fleet. Installation of Wi-Fi services, which will involve more than 200 aircraft, is expected to begin later this year. The United Express aircraft will be the first regional jets in the United States to be outfitted with Gogo's ATG-4, which more than triples the peak speeds to an aircraft when compared to Gogo's original ATG service that launched in 2008. Additionally, United and Gogo have agreed to partner on offering in-flight entertainment on two-cabin regional jets, beginning early next year, enabling passengers to watch movies and television shows on their Wi-Fi enabled devices. Along with regional jet Wi-Fi and personal device entertainment, late next year, United plans to begin a trial of Gogo's 2Ku satellite Wi-Fi on five of the carrier's aircraft that operate its p.s. "Premium Service" between New York JFK and Los Angeles and New York JFK and San Francisco. These aircraft currently offer Gogo's ATG-4 product.
