09:38 EDTDAL, BADelta 767-332ER returned to Madrid after suffering tire failure
A Boeing (BA) 767-332ER operated by Delta Air Lines (DAL) returned to land at Madrid-Barajas Airport, Spain, after it reportedly suffered a tire failure on takeoff. Delta Flight DL415 departed Madrid Airport about 11:22 local time on a passenger flight to New York-JFK. The airplane returned to land at Madrid were it went off the side of the runway. Runways 18R/36L and were closed following the incident. Photos show a missing wing panel on the right hand wing above the wheel well and what appears to be a burst tire on the right hand main landing gear. Reference Link

Delta Air Lines (DAL) this fall will equip more than 20,000 flight attendants with handheld Nokia (NOK) Lumia 1520 phablets, which will serve as their on-board manual and in-flight sales device as well as a platform for future, more personalized in-flight customer service. The Lumia 1520 features a larger format, 6-inch screen and will replace the smaller Lumia 820 already in the hands of Delta on-board professionals.
