CPI Aerostructures stated in presentation slides that 2013 was affected by sequestration and the company expects its 2014 performance to be better than 2013. CPI plans for higher product shipments in 2014 than in 2013 and expects 2014 to be a "year of growth," but noted that uncertainty on the 2014 federal budget remains. The company added that continued growth and performance improvement in expected in 2015, with 2015 gross margin expected to improve. CPI Aerostructures announced that it has received a U.S. Government prime contract from the Defense Logistics Agency, or DLA, to provide structural wing components and logistical support for global F-16 aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul, or MRO, operations. DLA Aviation, Richmond, VA is the contracting activity. CPI Aero will support wing MRO efforts for both the U.S. fleet of more than 1,000 F-16 aircraft as well as the nearly 1,900 F-16s flown by air forces around the world. The term of the contract is for a period of 5 years, with a single option for an additional 3-year period. The company estimates the value of the contract, including options, to be approximately $53.5M.
