SilverScript Insurance Company, a CVS Caremark company, announced that it has entered into collaborations with seven Accountable Care Organizations across the country. The collaborating ACOs include Monarch Healthcare ACO and National ACO in California; American Health Alliance, Orange Accountable Care, Orange Accountable Care of South Florida, and West Florida ACO in Florida; and VirtuaCare ACO in New Jersey. These collaborations are designed to help improve pharmacy care for Medicare Part D beneficiaries who are served by the participating ACO and also enrolled in a SilverScript Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan.

Cleveland Research believes that CVS (CVS) and Express scripts are implementing rebates and price controls on drug. The firm expects the companies to increase their focus on controlling durg prices next year, and adds that they have already itnroduced prior authorization criteria for hepatitis drug. Publicly traded drug companies include AstraZeneca (AZN), Bristol-Myers (BMY), Eli Lilly (LLY), GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), Merck (MRK), Novartis (NVS), Pfizer (PFE), Roche (RHHBY) and Sanofi (SNY).
