Capstone Turbine announced it recently received multiple orders from E-Finity Distributed Generation for microturbines to be used for oil and gas operations in the Marcellus and Utica Shale regions. E-Finity Distributed Generation, Capstone's exclusive oil and gas distributor for the Marcellus and Utica Shale plays, secured the nearly 4 MW of orders from two of their current customers and one new customer. One of the repeat customers is once again turning to Capstone and E-Finity to power two of their compressor stations in West Virginia. Each compressor station will have two C600 Capstone Power Packages, providing both primary and backup power. Another follow-on customer of E-Finity, a major midstream company, selected a C800 power package as the three-phase power source for a new compression facility. Due to the construction schedule and remote location, the utility grid power was not a viable or cost effective option. The third order came from a new customer who has embarked on a venture to create a midstream system to move wet gas from the Utica Shale in Ohio to processing facilities along the Ohio River in West Virginia.

Capstone Turbine announced that it received an order for six C800 microturbines and sixteen C30 microturbines for the second phase of the Los Ramones pipeline project in Eastern Mexico. Industrias Energetícas, Capstone's distributor in Mexico, secured the order, which is one of the largest in Capstone's history. The pipeline project is a part of the Mexican Energy Reform, which was established as a way to reduce electricity and gas prices in the country over a span of two years. The Energy Reform will also expedite natural gas production, from 5,700 million cubic feet a day, or Mcf/d, in 2013 to 8,000 Mcf/d in 2018 and 10,400 Mcf/d in 2025. The entire project will cost $2.5B and carry natural gas over a distance of 1,021 kilometers, supplying one-third of Mexico's natural gas needs at a much lower cost than that which is currently being shipped in liquefied form from the Middle East, Africa and South America. Six C800 high-pressure natural gas microturbines will be installed at two compression stations of the pipeline project and sixteen C30 microturbines at metering stations in between. The microturbine systems will all operate in stand-alone mode, acting as the primary source of power at each location.

Capstone Turbine announced that it received an order from Optimal Group for three C1000 microturbines to upgrade D'VineRipe's 27 hectare glasshouse located at Two Wells in South Australia. Optimal Group, Capstone's Australian distributor, secured the order, which is expected to be installed and commissioned in April 2015. Earlier this year, Capstone received an order from Optimal Group for fifty C65 microturbines with integrated heat exchangers for the launch of its microturbine based rental fleet. The D'VineRipe glasshouse project will increase the total amount of Capstone microturbine power in Australia to 18MW.
