News Breaks | | | | March 15, 2013 | | 08:34 EDT |  | COV | Covidien announces nominees to board of directors for Mallinckrodt Covidien announced nominees to the future board of directors of Mallinckrodt plc as Mallinckrodt prepares to become a separate, independently traded company in mid-2013. It is expected that eight of the nine nominees will be determined to be independent directors, in accordance with the listing standards of the New York Stock Exchange. The service of all directors is expected to become effective upon the distribution of Mallinckrodt ordinary shares to Covidien shareholders. Nominees include: Melvin D. Booth, who will be named Chairman of the Board; Mark C. Trudeau, who will become President, CEO and a director of Mallinckrodt plc; David R. Carlucci, who was Chairman and CEO of IMS Health until his retirement in December 2010. | |

| June 17, 2013 | | 07:02 EDT |  | COV | Covidien announces publication of final results of Pipeline study Covidien announced that the final results of the PUFs, Pipeline for Uncoilable or Failed Aneurysms, clinical study of its Pipeline embolization device have been published in the June issue of Radiology, the official peer-reviewed medical journal of the Radiological Society of North America. The Pipeline device met the trial’s primary endpoints for both effectiveness and safety. Based on these data, the Pipeline device was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on April 6, 2011. | |
