| theflyonthewall.com: | Celldex presents preclinical data on CDX-1127 | | Celldex Therapeutics announced that new preclinical data on its therapeutic antibody program, CDX-1127, was presented in a poster presentation at the 2011 American Society of Hematology 53rd Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA. The presentation, entitled “Development of a Human Anti-CD27 Antibody with Efficacy in Lymphoma and Leukemia Models by Two Distinct Mechanisms,” describes proof of concept studies for CDX-1127 in preclinical models of lymphoma. CDX-1127 is a novel therapeutic antibody candidate that is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 dose escalation clinical trial as a treatment for patients with hematologic malignancies and selected solid tumors. In this presentation, CDX-1127 displayed both mechanisms of action in demonstrating the ability to activate immune cells and directly target CD27 on the cell surface of the tumor, with key findings including: CDX-1127 is a potent agonist of CD27 when combined with T cell receptor stimulation; CDX-1127 mediates significant anti-tumor efficacy when tested in several models of human lymphoblastic tumors grown in immune-deficient mice. :theflyonthewall.com |

| theflyonthewall.com: | Celldex's CDX-011 demonstrates high response rates in patients | | Celldex Therapeutics announced preliminary results from the company's randomized Phase 2b EMERGE study of CDX-011 antibody drug conjugate in patients with glycoprotein NMB expressing, advanced, heavily pretreated breast cancer. Preliminary results suggest that CDX-011 induces impressive response rates compared to current, available therapies in patients with advanced, refractory breast cancers with high GPNMB expression. In this high expressing patient population, treatment with CDX-011 resulted in a 32% overall response rate, whereas treatment with Investigator's Choice single-agent chemotherapy resulted in a 13% ORR. CDX-011 also demonstrated strong response rates in patients with triple negative breast cancer across all levels of GPNMB expression, where treatment options are extremely limited. In addition, in patients with triple negative breast cancer who also highly express GPNMB, greater activity was observed. The ORR across all levels of GPNMB expression was 19% for the CDX-011 arm and 14% for the IC arm, and a direct, positive correlation was observed between increasing levels of GPNMB expression and increased CDX-011 response rates. Based on these data, the Company believes CDX-011 has significant promise as a targeted therapy for patients with breast cancer and high expression of GPNMB, and especially for those with triple negative disease. :theflyonthewall.com |
