Celanese announced it will increase the price of vinyl acetate-based emulsions sold in Asia. PVAc homopolymer and vinyl acetate ethylene emulsions will increase by ¥200/MT for China and $30/MT for the rest of Asia effective August 18, or as contracts allow. This increase is in addition to the price increase announced on July 15 and effective July 18. This price increase affects all applications including, but not limited to, adhesives, paints and coatings, building and construction, glass fiber, carpet and paper.

Celanese announced that Chris Jensen has been named the company's CFO. Jensen has served in the role on an interim basis since May 2014, and has global responsibility for tax, treasury, accounting, SEC reporting and financial shared services. Jensen joined Celanese in 2005, and has held several leadership positions in finance, including senior vice president, finance and global business services; treasurer; controller; and assistant controller. Prior to joining Celanese, Jensen worked in the inspections and registration division of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

FY15 consensus $5.75. The company said, "As we look to the remainder of 2015, we are confident in our ability to drive unique value in both of our cores despite year-over-year currency headwinds and the recent stress in the global macroeconomic environment, primarily due to the recent uncertainty in China. Our focus on execution and productivity, as well as our agility to match market needs, allows us to increase our 2015 adjusted earnings outlook range to $5.70 to $6.00 per share."
