Celanese will increase the price of vinyl acetate monomer, methyl isobutyl carbinol, methyl isobutyl ketone, and paraformaldehyde in North America, South America and Asia outside of China. The company will increase the price of vinyl acetate monomer and ethyl acetate in Europe, and will increase the price of acetic acid in North and South America. The price of acetic anhydride and butyl acetate will increase in Asia outside of China.

The company expects to generate $2.5B in free cash flow from 2016-2018. It also expects to generate annual synergies that range from $125M-$150M, while constant focus on productivity initiatives is expected to generate $50M-$100M in net productivity savings annually. Celanese will continue to increase its cash dividend, which has grown 50% compounded annually since 2010, and will continue to repurchase shares under the recently announced $1B share repurchase program. The company will outline in more detail the growth objectives and capital allocation plans at its Investor Day.

Celanese will expand acetic acid and vinyl acetate monomer capacity in North America. Celanese will implement a series of low capital debottlenecks in its Clear Lake, Texas, acetic acid facility and expects up to 150kt more product. The current nameplate capacity of the facility is 1,350kt per annum. The debottlenecks will happen in stages over the next several years with the expectation that total U.S. output will have a nameplate capacity of more than 1,500kt per annum by 2016. Celanese has also begun work on a 150kt expansion of its Clear Lake, Texas, VAM facility raising plant capacity to 450kt. The expansion will be complete in 2018.
