09:04 EDTCBTCabot awarded new contract for midwestern utility customer
Cabot announced that it has been awarded a new contract to provide activated carbon injection systems to a midwestern utility customer in the U.S. The contract is valued at up to $5M in revenue for Cabot and will allow the utility to meet stringent regulations for treatment of mercury emissions. The ACI systems delivered under the contract enable the utility to comply with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Mercury and Air Toxics Standard that requires coal-fired power plants to reduce emissions of mercury and other toxic air pollutants by April 2015. The contract award is for four custom designed and engineered ACI systems planned for installation by the end of 2014.
