CBOE Holdings reported that July trading volume for options contracts on Chicago Board Options Exchange and C2 Options Exchange and futures contracts on CBOE Futures Exchange totaled 108.89M contracts. Average daily volume was 4.95M contracts, an 11% increase from July 2013 and a 4% increase from June. CBOE Holdings' year-to-date ADV was 5.18M contracts, 12% ahead of the same period one year ago. July was the second-most-active-month in total trading volume for futures on the CBOE Volatility Index, up 48% from July 2013.

16:59 EDTCBOECBOE Holdings raises share repurchase authorization by $100M
CBOE Holdings announced that its board increased its share repurchase authorization by $100M. Including this new authorization, the board has authorized a total of $500M for buying back shares since 2011. The company's board authorized the company to repurchase an additional $100M of its outstanding common stock, effective immediately. This increased authorization will be added to the approximately $30M that currently remains available from an existing authorization approved by the board in July 2014.
