16:18 EDTCAVMCavium to acquire Xpliant for approximately $90M in cash, stock
Cavium announced a definitive agreement to acquire Xpliant. Xpliant is a provider of high performance, high density switch silicon targeting a broad range of switching applications for the data center, cloud, service provider and enterprise markets. The total acquisition cost is projected to be approximately $90M, which includes payments to stockholders, note holders and other liabilities and costs. Cavium was an investor in Xpliant having provided $15M of funding to Xpliant through June, which is included in that total cost estimate. The remaining $75M will be comprised of approximately $40M in cash and $35M in stock.
