Shares of MoneyGram (MGI) are down 12.5% in pre-market trading and Western Union (WU) is down over 5% after Walmart (WMT) and Ria, a subsidiary of Euronet Worldwide (EEFT), announced the launch of Walmart-2-Walmart Money Transfer Service. Walmart said the service allows customers to transfer money to and from more than 4,000 Walmart stores nationwide for "up to 50% less than similar offerings on the market." Euronet shares are up nearly 8% before the open of the broader market, while Wal-Mart shares are fractionally higher.

Walmart (WMT) and Ria, a subsidiary of Euronet Worldwide (EEFT), announced the launch of Walmart-2-Walmart Money Transfer Service. Available April 24, the new service allows customers to transfer money to and from more than 4,000 Walmart stores nationwide for "up to 50% less than similar offerings on the market," the company said. Walmart-2-Walmart offers a fee structure with just two pricing tiers: customers can transfer up to $50 for $4.50 and up to $900 for $9.50.

Walmart (WMT) and Euronet (EEFT) last night announced that they will hold a conference call today to announce a new service. "Walmart and Euronet are committed to providing innovative solutions to help customers reduce costs and better manage their money," the press release stated. Shares of Euronet rallied 77c to $41.56 in after-hours trading following the news.

Ellie Mae reported its conclusion that the recent outage to its Encompass services was not a result of a malicious attack and confirmed that there was no breach of customer data. The characteristics of the outage initially appeared to the Company to be consistent with a distributed denial of service, or DDoS, attack. However, following a thorough review of the incident, with assistance from a leading security and cybercrime forensics firm, Ellie Mae has now concluded that there was no malicious attack on its systems. Accordingly, the company confirmed there was no breach of client or personal borrower data. The unexpected surge in service requests to web servers that resulted in the outage on March 31, was triggered by a confluence of factors involving network, hardware, software and demand for service. Ellie Mae has already taken a number of steps in response to this incident, including adding capacity and redistributing traffic across its data centers. The IT infrastructure has been functioning normally since mid-afternoon Pacific Daylight Time on April 1, 2014.
